Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue E. Taylor, an American producer and actor, is known for playing in the film Ray Undercover Brother as well as on The Mentalist. She holds a BA in African-American Studies and an MFA from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue is an American actor, producer and director who works in television and film. She began acting on stage before appearing in mainstream, independent as well as television shows. She became famous as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico, and also appeared on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes. For both of these roles she won critical acclaim as well as numerous nominations and awards, including her first award, the Television Critics Choice Award for Best Actress. Her first professional performance was as Ariel, on the stage in The Tempest. The credits on stage include Come and Gone Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis, a Broadway production by Joe Turner. Her film career is highlighted by her roles in Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help.
