Maureen FitzSimons, better known as Maureen O'Hara in America, was a child prodigy. For a child from Irish origin, and surrounded by gifted parents and family, these were very natural traits. Maureen was born in this cosy refuge on the 17th of August 1920. She was raised by the family of her parents. Marguerita LIlburn FitzSimons, her mom. She was an accomplished contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based business and owned a share in "The Shamrock Rovers" an eminent Irish soccer squad. Maureen FitzSimons was the second daughter from Charles FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons, Florrie Fitzsimons Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons completed the wonderful family. Maureen enjoyed rough sports as young and became very adept at it. Her natural ability to perform perfectly complemented her love of athletics. It was evident when she was awarded each Feis for theatre and drama the Irish had to provide. The Abbey Theater was her first choice. Abbey Theater by age 14, and she pursued her dreams of operatic as well as classical theater and singing.
